One Ring to Rule Them ALL (Them being my happiness and rule being emotional decimation thereof)

I made a ring y'all. As you can see, I have a list of potential ideas to work with, spanning a range of different aesthetics. There's a series that encompasses different dinosaur skulls molded into the shape of rings, a few with a honeycomb pattern motif with different shaped bases, and a concept for a crystalline shaped ring, given my interest in collecting crystals of curious formations. After a discussion with my peers I ruled out the honeycomb designs as they are fairly superficial and don't even look that great. The dino-skulls have a lot more potential, and we half jokingly discuss the potential of monetizing them by putting them in blind bags as a series and making them collectibles. However in the end I settle on the crystal design as it's more practical to make, compared to the challenge of modelling a full dinosaur skull, and has a dynamic design with both the stone-textured band and the crystal having a geological motif. Then I move on with the d...

Reverse Engineered Bottle

The pill bottle is complete! I created a model of the Estriadol bottle I use for my estrogen supplement. I chose it initially because of the simple basic shape that encapsulates many small details, and just as I expected, the construction was a lot of fun, with many small details that was time consuming but fun to figure out. One of the major issues to figure out was making all the hollow components, as most of the components in the pill bottle are actually defined by their negative space, so I actually used Boolean Split to 'carve' the negative space out of larger shapes. There's also a lot of forms to mold around cylinders, so I used the Flow tool a lot. Oh no I spilled my pills! One part I'm particularly proud of is the sticker - the surface tool has weird interactions when overlaid on top of a solid, making it so the text clips through the surface and looks patchy. To fix that I extruded the text by the tiniest amount, so it sits above the paper and thus sho...
