Definition HD model Printed Model Mold Casting Reflection 1.)  Notable challenges and successes throughout this project I encountered a few hurdles through the process of the project. First of all, my definition suffered a decent amount because I was too stubborn to break away from a fully Grasshopper-made model. What resulted of it was a large amount of bloat in my prototype definition, as well as a model that in fact could not be printed, due to the numerous overhangs in the design. Bryan helped walk me through that, though, and by making the initial layer shape (the first heptagon) in Rhino it let me make a much more flexible and viable design. Second hurdle I encountered was during the cutting of the matchplate. Because of a little mix-up, the matchplate was flipped slightly, so the grooves along the top and bottom didn't line up with the rest of the plates. I ended up needing to recut it. After that, the project went reasonably smoothly, wi...

To Build a Vase Better Late than Never, I Say   The Definition  I initially had a big messy huge thing, because I wanted to generate the whole thing in Grasshopper, but Bryan let me know that it was in fact okay to create parts of the object in Rhino. So I made one individual 'layer' - the chamfered polygon shape - then distributed it across a line, with half of the layers rotated and half of the layers remaining the same to create a pineapple-like pattern: Like a pineapple And then I used that to print mold positives, and from that, I cast the plaster molds. Half mold full mold And there it is below! molds
